Instructor: Rebecca Catlin PT, DMT, OCS, FAAOMPT

City, State: Seattle, WA

Highlights/Experience

Becca became a physical therapist in 2001 after graduating with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis. She then moved to the Seattle area to start her career after falling in love with the mountains while doing a clinical rotation in Seattle during her physical therapy training.

Becca has had an interest in Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy since PT school thanks to a fantastic professor at U of Indy. She initiated her manual therapy training right out of school through NAIOMT and completed all of their course work through level III. She was then introduced to the OGI and completed her Residency training in 2009 and Fellowship in 2010. She then earned her Doctor of Manual Therapy in 2011 from the OGI after completing her research paper on shoulder tissue response to manual treatment for shoulder pain. In 2012 she completed the PhD Program Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy. The following year she began apprenticing and assisted with the Fellowship program. Becca has continued to teach post doctoral level PTs advanced diagnostic and treatment skills though the OGI for the past few years.

Becca works full-time as a physical therapist for MTI (Manual Therapy International) in Seattle and manages the Issaquah clinic. She is also on the Steering Committee and Hiring Committee for MTI.

She enjoys treating patients with all types of diagnoses, but has a keen interest in injury prevention, keeping weekend worriers charging to the hills to fully enjoy the Pacific NW, temporomadibular disorders, headaches, and that patient with the challenging case who has “tried everything” and is still seeking help.  Lastly, as a climber, she has special interest in caring for overhead athletes and upper extremity injuries.
